We had a bad experience with Ocean Canynon Properties. We purchased a new RV and they provided us with a dealer certificate for $1,000.00.
Free 25 night stay. I questioned the lady on the phone if this was like a timeshare presentation. She advised that it was not. In order for you to get the free 25 nights you had to schedule the tour of the campground in which we did.
Upon arriving the staff at the campground was very friendly. We were taken up stairs where we learned that we had to sit through a presentation where they try to sell you a membership. We sat through the presentation and answered all of Janna's (sales person) questions. Upon completion of her presentation she stated that we had two options and anytime option and a today option.
The today option was only good through the end of the presentation at which that time we had to tell her yes we were interested or no we were not interested. She quoted us a price of $12,000 + dollars plus $735 yearly fees. At this point she had never gave us a tour of the campground therefore we did not even know what we were purchasing to be a member of. She then asked us what we thought about the mempership.
We then told her that we were not interested in purchasing a membership. She then became very upset and began to be rude. She asked us if we still wanted to tour the campground and we said yes. She then took us on a golf cart around the campground and was very harsh and rude the entire time.
She took us back to what they so call their club house and brought us back up stairs to sign a paper stating that we received our prizes for attending. The catch of the so called prize of the free 25 night stay is that it had to be used during the week Sun thru Thursday and it can not be used on a Friday or Saturday. The other catch is that you have to use 5 days together. So if you go there and camp for 1 or 2 days you have to forfeit 5 days.
The campground in Abita Springs has barely anything to offer. The "clubhouse" is old, there is a pool and the campground is very small with only a walking trail. We were also advised during our telephone conversation that we were free to use their amenities for the day. We were looking forward to spreading time in the pool etc.
but after Janna was so rude and the way we were treated when we told her we were not interested we left as we did not want to be in this type of atmosphere!!! DO NOT BUY INTO THIS MEMBERSHIP!!! IT IS A RIP OFF!! Staff is friendly until things does not go their way!
The Abita Springs campground is not worth the money!
If they offered their membership for a penny it would have been turned down!"
Review about: Ocean Canyon Properties Sales Representative.
Reason of review: Waste of our time!! Very rude!! Not what was presented to get you to the campground.
I didn't like: Promises did not match reality.
